WACO (October 2, 2012)—A McGregor man has bonded out of jail after being charged with impersonating a public servant.

Milton Jay Boyle, 53, was released Monday after posting a $5,000 bond.

McLennan County Sheriff Deputies arrested Boyle on Monday after they found a man stopping traffic on Interstate 35 in an unmarked vehicle that had a police light bar on top.

Deputies pulled up behind the man when they saw him stopped behind another vehicle to assist in what they thought was a traffic stop by a police officer.

When they questioned the man, however, they learned that he is a member on an area rescue team but is not a certified peace officer.

The man said he stopped the other driver to try to get him to slow down.
