Police Shoot, Kill Man Who Assaulted And Injured An Officer Save Email Print

A | A | A

(April 2, 2008)—The Texas Rangers have joined the investigation of the death of a 22-year-old Round Rock man who was shot to death Tuesday evening in a struggle with three Round Rock police officers.

The dead man was identified Wednesday as Bobby Lee Williams.
Police said he had recently been living with his half-sister in Round Rock.

It happened after the officers responded to a report that a naked man was “behaving aggressively” toward a Round Rock woman and running through adjacent yards in full view of several children, police said Wednesday.

The man drove off, but returned a short time later, police said.

At some point, the man attacked the officers, injured one of them and gained control of what police described as the officer’s impact weapon.

The officer suffered several minor injuries, police said.

He was treated at Round Rock Medical Center and was later released, police said.

The three officers, whose names were not released, were placed on routine administrative duty after the shooting.

Where are "drugs" mentioned in this story?! As for my son, Joshua, if you knew the entire story, as I do, you may have a different perspective.... Life Lesson #87,217-Never Judge a Book by Its Cover If I thought that this would be posted referring to Joshua's website, I would include it, however.... One thing I know for sure~~~Joshua would not have taken his own life! Besides, if you choose to stand by your decision, without all the facts, it's your perogative. Heck, I'm JUST Josh's MOTHER!!!

outside agencies ALWAYS investigate officer invbolved shootings. it removes the validity of people like cynthias comments. the rangers didnt 'get themselves involved' they were requested to investigate it to remove the 'bias comments' reflected here.

Don't fool with the Round Rock PD, that is why Round Rock is one of the safest places in Texas to live. And to the Anonymous posted at 12:59pm. They need bigger guns than the killers. No police officer ever knows if he or she will make it home everyday. The way to not get shot, is don't act stupid and do as you are told. Stay off of drugs that causes you to act like an idiot.

cynthia, texas ranges might have investigated the shooting you are refering to. you have the right to call them and inquire about it, they will talk to you about it. dont expect mcgregor to investigate themselves,it wont happen. almost every police dept has some degree of lawlessness in it. i urge you to talk to the texas rangers yourself, you may never be satisfied with thier findings but at least you can try to get some answers yourself.

Cynthia. Is it possible that your son did indeed kill himself and that the police report is accurate? I understand you're grieving, but you are letting your anger consume you. I have read your story and I am sorry for your loss, but maybe it's not some big cover-up. For your sake, I hope you find some peace.

Cynthia, I am sorry about your son. God Bless you and your family. This guy never should of assaulted the police officers. Self defense in my book. He got what was coming to him.Looks like an open and shut case to me.
