(April 12, 2008)--Iranian state television says several people were killed in a bomb explosion in a mosque in southern Iran.
An initial television report said scores had been killed in the bombing in the city of Shiraz, but the death roll was later revised.
State television says an unspecified number of people were injured in the blast.
The city is more than 550 miles south of the capital Tehran.
The semi-official Fars news agency says eight people were killed and more than 66 were injured.
The official IRNA news agency said several people were injured, but added that no official reports were yet available on deaths.
There was no immediate explanation for the discrepancies in the reports.
