KILLEEN (October 25, 2012)—Maxdale Elementary School, in the 2600 block of Westwood Drive in Killeen was placed on an external lockdown Thursday morning while police were investigating an incident in the area.
The external lockdown lasted from about 11:15 a.m. until about 11:30 a.m., a school district spokesman said.
It was not clear what police were investigating and why they called for the lockdown.
An external lockdown means students were kept inside the building and classes continued as normal.
