LAMPASAS COUNTY (October 26, 2012)—Authorities Friday identified the man killed Thursday afternoon in a wreck on U.S. 190 just inside Lampasas County as Tommy Lynn Branch, 62, of Carthage.

Branch was driving west in a Dodge Dakota pickup when the truck veered under an approaching truck tractor, semi-trailer that was eastbound on the highway.

The accident happened just before 1 p.m. just west of Big Divide Road, just outside of Copperas Cove.

Traffic in the eastbound lanes of the highway was being diverted to the center lane, but was moving around the accident site.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
