In an effort to break the cycle of domestic violence, Fort Hood Commander Lt. Gen. Thomas Metz has designated Friday as Domestic Violence Prevention Stand Down Day on post.
A series of events and training sessions throughout the day is aimed at increasing awareness and to reinforce the post’s policy of domestic violence prevention and protection of abuse victims.
"I am personally dedicated to the prevention of domestic violence," Metz said.
"Domestic violence is not an acceptable option in America's war-winning force, and preventing domestic violence is a key factor in maintaining our force's mission readiness,” he said.
