By: Paul J. Gately Email

TROY (November 22, 2012)—A Troy man died Wednesday morning in a pickup truck crash along a rural road in Bell County.

Bell County Justice of the Peace David Barfield pronounced Homer David Morris dead at the scene just after 11 a.m. and ordered his body taken to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science, in Dallas, for autopsy.

A Department of Public Safety trooper who investigated the accident reported Morris was driving a 1989 Chevrolet pick up truck along Farm-to-Market Road 438 about a mile north of Troy when he lost control in a curve, left the roadway and crashed into several trees.

Morris was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
