WACO (December 6, 2012)—Smoke inside the building at Ridgecrest Retirement Center Thursday morning in Waco didn’t require a mandatory evacuation, but some residents went outside to escape the acrid odor.

Firefighters were sent just before 8 a.m. to the building at 1900 West Highway 6 where the first units on the scene reported smoke inside the building but hadn’t yet found from where the smoke was coming.

A News 10 reported at the scene said some residents chose to go outside the building while firefighters tried to find the source of the smoke and clear the building with fans.

No one was injured.
