(April 27, 2008)—Nolanville police Sunday identified the Fort Hood soldier who died in a four-vehicle crash Friday that shut down U.S. Highway 190 in Nolanville as Spc. Kevin M. Nichols.

Police said Nichols was assigned to Fort Hood’s 1st Cavalry Division.

Nichols was driving east Friday afternoon on 190 in a 2008 Ford Ranger when his truck and an Ford F-250 crossed the median and collided with a Ford utility truck and a Toyota Celica in the westbound lane near Main Street.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four others were injured.

Two of the injured victims were taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and the other two were taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

The names of the injured victims were not available Sunday.

I can not belive this hapend.Kevin was my step cousin. he was a nice kid.I just hope he his happy were he is at now.I just miss him so much.

the sad part about this background is that my cousin was the man who died hello my name is Brandon R.

Kevin you will be missed dearly. You will always be in my heart. We used to go to school together and hang out all the time. I just can't believe this has happened.

I believe I had Kevin in my class for first grade and am so sorry to hear of his tragic death. I remember him as a sweet little boy, quiet and shy. My sympathy to the family.
