KILLEEN (December 14, 2012)-Police were searching Friday morning for a man who robbed a Family Dollar store at gunpoint and left the clerk locked inside a bathroom as he escaped.
Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said officers were sent just after 8:30 a.m. to the Family Dollar store at 4625 East Veterans Memorial Boulevard after a caller reported the store had been robbed by an armed man.
Smith said the clerk at the business was left locked in a bathroom as the gunman made his escape.
No one was injured.
Smith said officers were looking for a black man, wearing a red cap, a black hooded sweatshirt and possible jeans.
The man was said to be armed with a black handgun, which he pointed at the clerk during the holdup.
Officers believe the robber left the area on foot.
