Man Injured In Early-Morning Crash In Serious Condition At Local Hospital

MCGREGOR (December 19, 2012)—A man who was injured Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle accident just east of McGregor was in serious condition Wednesday evening at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.

James Richard Westerfield II was injured at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday when his 2005 Chevrolet pickup veered off Mother Neff Parkway just south of Texas Highway 317 and hit an embankment, Department of Public Safety Trooper D.L. Wilson said.

He suffered lower leg fractures and underwent surgery Wednesday afternoon, Wilson said.
