WACO (December 24, 2012)—A two-vehicle hit-and-run accident Monday afternoon left two people injured, but the fleeing driver was stopped and arrested only a few blocks away.

Police were sent at about 2 p.m. to the intersection of 18th Street and Maple Avenue after a report of an accident from which one driver fled the scene.

Police at the scene said two people were taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Officers in the area shortly afterwards noticed a vehicle that matched the description of the one that fled the scene.

Police stopped the suspect vehicle at 16th Street and Providence Avenue and arrested the driver.
