By: Kris Gordon Email

COPPERAS COVE (December 26, 2012)—A bomb threat on Christmas Day forced police to evacuate a movie theater in Copperas Cove.

Copperas Cove police Sgt. Julie Lehman confirmed the threat Wednesday morning but could not provide any additional details.

Police were sent at about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday to the Cinergy Cinema where a bomb threat had been reported.

Upon arrival officers assisted with the evacuation and conducted a search of the building but no explosive device was located.

The theater, however, was closed for the rest of the evening.

Movie-goers who showed up for later showings were turned away.

The theater was open Wednesday morning.
