Man Arrested After Leading Police On High Speed Chase

BELLMEAD (December 26, 2012)—A Bellmead man was being held Wednesday in the McLennan County Jail after his arrest following a Christmas Day high- speed chase.

Larry Wayne Howse, , was ordered held on bonds totaling $19,500, charged with evading arrest, assault dating violence and failure to pay child support.

A spokesman for Bellmead police said officers were sent Tuesday to a house on Green Briar Drive after a neighbor reported a verbal argument.

When officers arrived a man fled in a vehihcle.

A Bellmead officer later saw a man matching the suspect’s description driving in another part of the city and when the officer tried to stop the driver, he fled.

The driver led police on a four-mile chase before he stopped and surrendered outside a family member’s home.
