(May 2, 2008)—The storms that rumbled through Central Texas On April 25 did produce a tornado in Bell County, the National Weather Service said Friday.

The tornado touched down briefly in the Belton area, the Weather Service said, but did no significant damage.

The storm that spawned the tornado, however, also produced golf ball to baseball size hail that broke skylights, windows and vehicle windshields in the Belton area.

I also have good footage of the tornado as the funnel cloud started to form. You can find it at Youtube.com/Buzzerfly and look for the video that says "Hail Storm 08." I didn't realize that the existence of the twisters was even an issue until I read this story. Our local news coverage sucks.

Where is the person now that last week was telling everyone how uneducated they were because this person knew this was not a tornado? I guess everyone who "saw" it was correct after all.
