(May 2, 2008)--A 10-year-old Pennsylvania girl admits that she assaulted a classmate by pulling her off a set of monkey bars and stomping on her.
The girl and another classmate attacked the victim on an elementary school playground after school hours April 3.
The victim, whose hip was broken, attended the hearing in a wheelchair.
The offender returned home Friday after more than two weeks in a juvenile detention center.
Her mother apologized to the victim and her family, saying her daughter's behavior was out of character.
The other girl accused in the case, an 11-year-old, has admitted to one charge of harassment for throwing a cup of water on the victim before the assault.
The two girls could be confined in a juvenile detention center or otherwise be kept under court supervision until they turn 21.
