(May 5, 2008)--A state prison inmate serving a life sentence has been charged in the murder of a Southern Methodist University student that has gone unsolved for 24 years.
Angela Samota was found dead of multiple stab wounds in 1984 in her off-campus apartment.
She was 20.
Dallas police said Monday that Donald Andrew Bess has been charged with capital murder in the death.
Authorities said they matched DNA evidence to Bess using technology that wasn't available when the college student was killed.
The 59-year-old Bess is serving a life sentence for three unrelated sexual assaults.
