Police Arrest Two In Shooting Death OF Store Clerk
Police arrested two men Friday in connection with the shooting death of a Central Texas store clerk during a robbery.

Temple police arrested Robert Lee Herring, 23, of Temple and William Darnell Venable, 21, of Temple Friday on capital murder warrants in connection with the shooting death of a convenience store clerk.
Acting on a tip about the men’s whereabouts, police arrested the two Friday at a store in Belton.
Edward Girard, 32, of Temple was shot to death early Thursday morning at the Diamond Shamrock Store at 808 1st St. in Temple.
Robbery was the motive for the shooting, police said, and the killer escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.
Police found Girard’s body just before 5 a.m. Thursday after responding to a report of shots fired.
