(May 7, 2008)--Mexico has agreed to return a man accused of killing a University of North Texas college student whose body was burned.

Dallas County prosecutors say Ernesto Reyes of Denton will not face execution as a condition of his transfer to Texas custody.

Mexico does not have the death penalty.

Officials say the suspect is expected to be transferred to Dallas by the end of the month.

Melanie Goodwin of Arlington was a 19-year-old sophomore at UNT when she was abducted in September.

Carrollton police have said surveillance video from a business near where the remains of the victim were found shows a man dragging a body from a car and starting a fire.

Reyes was arrested in October as he left a relative's home about 200 miles north of Mexico City.

A friend of Reyes is charged with tampering with evidence.
