Pregnant Texas Woman Shot To Death Days Before Scheduled Delivery Save Email Print

A | A | A

(May 8, 2008)--San Antonio police believe the fatal shooting of a pregnant 20-year-old San Antonio woman was accidental.

Family members say Emily Barrientes and her fetus died 20 days before she was scheduled to give birth.

Her twin sister, Amy Barrientes, says she was sitting on the floor eating with her sister when Emily was shot once in the back of the head Wednesday.

Amy says her Amy's longtime boyfriend was cleaning his gun when it went off.

This is extremely sad. Not only did a young woman lose her life but also an unborn baby.

Maybe he just finished cleaning the gun.............then loaded the clip. This would be the norm after cleaning a gun. Clean your gun, load mag, canmber a round... finger on trigger... BOOM. It does happen sad to say exspecialy when someone is not familiar with handguns.

You would think that the baby could have been saved! So sad....I feel for the families!

You are right Mrs Reed this is a sad story, a loss of a love one is always hard, but something does sound fishy.

This is truly a sad story. A loss is always a terrible thing for any family to go through and for her to be pregnant, words cant describe. To the family, sorry for your lost.

Cleaning his "loaded" gun? You can't clean a gun until you unload it... Sounds very suspicious to me!!
