Man Charged After 10-Year-Old Becomes Pregnant Save Email Print

(May 8, 2008)--A suspected illegal immigrant is under arrest in Idaho, charged in the rape of a 10-year-old girl who became pregnant.

Medical workers who reported the child was pregnant tipped police in St. Anthony in eastern Idaho to the case last month.

She gave birth two weeks ago.

Authorities provided no information about her or the newborn.

Thirty-seven-year-old Guadalupe Gutierre-Juarez is held on $250,000 bond, charged with one count of rape.

Police aren't saying whether there's a family connection but do say the prosecutor is considering additional charges.

A medical anthropologist in Washington says it is highly unusual for a 10-year-old to give birth, but not impossible because of earlier development.

Texas, As some people have already stated, it would be a tough choice to adding the traumatization of an abortion to everything else that this poor child has suffered. Its either add that to her plate or let her have a child which will be there to remind her of the past every day. I didn't say that either way was the 'correct' way to do it. The true is we all have our separate opinions now but, god forbid, we are ever in those shoes what we say now and do then may not necessarily be the same thing. As far as a 'high horse', I don't have one I was just stating an opinion based on the comments I read and the story.

My daughter just barley started her period at 10. There would be NO WAY in heck I would have let her have that baby I would have been stuck raising it because she is not mature to do it by herself. Well she is 14 bow and I still tell her the same thing. But I agree with what someone wrote about the usless piece of skin they need to get rid of him and burn the body and throw it over the side of the mountain. But even that would be to good for him. Some spanish girls have babies early but not at 10 that is way crazy. Maybe if the parents had been around more and paid attention this would not have happened wheather she is working in a field or home watching TV.

This was 100% preventable. If he was not in the US illeagaly we would not be hearing about this case. Yes other legal citizens do horrible things too but illegals committing crimes are 100% preventable. Deportation by law enforcement does work!! Ask AR, OK, GA etc. look at the differnce they are making and guess where they are headed? To Texas so enjoy!!

This child is going to be reminded every day of her life of the horrible ordeal she endured since she did not have an abortion. I am not for abortions, but this is one case it would have definately taken place.

Nowhere in my comment did I negate the fact that this was a child nor that she was obviously raped. I was commenting on a possible reason why the "family" didnt seek to get her an abortion. THAT, IMO, would have been the resonable thing to do seeing that she IS a child. Yes, it is unfortunate that this dirtball will only get deported only to slither right back and do this henous deed again. I am a parent and if it were my child, I would have taken care of that child and NOT let her have a baby. So when you come down from your high horse, Briana, perhaps you can also wonder why a parent could let a 10 year old give birth.

I don't see how someone like “Texas” can be so heartless. No matter whose child it is, we should all feel remorse for the family and hatred toward the offender. Unfortunately, the only thing that will probably happen to this man is that he will get deported. Crime is crime no matter if you are here legally or not. anon you are talking about the polygamist in texas get girls pregnant the girls they are getting pregnant are 16 not 10 you HUGE difference the polygamist that get pregnant and have children are also not on medicaid or ffodstamps as I am sure this ten year old and her WHOLE family will be send the 10 year old beaner and her family back to Mexico

okay, you say fry that illegal criminal? What about the religious sect people in texas that are white and impregnating young girls as well? They are not here illegally. Anyone can be sick like this person, doesn't matter race or religion. As for her parents, this might have been a tough decision for them. Yes, termination of the pregnancy was an option, but also think about what the girl might go through if that had happened. It might have saved a lot of turmoil now, but later in life it might have caused her even more grief.

i AM NOT ONE TO PRMOTE ABORTION BUT IN THIS CASE I BELIEVE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST THING. THE PARENTS SHOULD HAVE STEPPED IN AND TAKEN CARE OF THE SITUATION. SHAME ON THEM AS WELL.....

First of all, as a mother, I would have terminated the pregnancy of a 10 YEAR OLD, then I would have terminated that useless waste of skin. What mother in her right mind would allow a child to have a child that is a product of such an unspeakable act of violence on her child!!!! I'm beyond words here. I agree, where are the parents in this situation? and i also agree that it has nothing to to with him being and illegal either. he is a sick pervert one way or another he was going to get his. wether here or his country of origin. i cant stand a child molestor, they are the lowest of the low, we might consider running him down a few razor blades then dipping him in alcohol. kids having kids early is a major problme because of the fact that these people try to make up for their lost years in the future by pawning the child off on others while they party and try to regain their lost youth. i hate to say it but i know a few people i went to hight school, that swore they would never be statistics and go and behold the are. enough said.

Why didn't the parents terminate the pregnancy. I think a 10yr old rape victim should be allowed to terminate the pregnancy. Why would her parents allow her to go through a pregnancy?

For the pain he put on that baby that she will have to mentally and physically endure for the rest of her life, here's my solution: Take him out into the desert, strip him naked, and stake him over a fire ant bed. Then, pour molasses all over his private area, and tell him to have a nice day...just before you drive off!

This is a reply to anonymous, the parents are to blame because they HAD to see the change in their daughter! Physically she had some changes, someone had to notice. Why didnt they call police and file a complaint? If it turns out this guy is a relative of hers then why didnt her mother do anything about it? I have a twelve year old and it is my job to protect her and you can bet your bottom that if she was pregnant I WOULD KNOW!!!!! Its your job as a parent to know and be involved, so yes I believe everyone in her life that should have been protecting her should be charged. Not because it happened but because no one stood up for her and reported it, there is no telling how many times that monster raped her. I am with Mrs.Reed, wheres the rope?

First of all, "Patriot", this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact the perp was illegal. Look up the statistics and you will be surprised to find that most cases of sexual assault aren't from "illegals". Also, "concerned", I am a parent of 3 and I agree that we first want to question the parents whereabouts. But as you know, parents can't be everywhere, all the time. We protect when we can and how we can but this could have been something beyond there control. We should start by putting the blame on the perpetrator and not only the circumstances. This person will get his one way or another. Rather it is here on earth or when he meets God face to face.

Usually I am not one for violence, but in this case he needs to be tortured. Can you imagine what that 10 year old had to go through during delivery or even just carrying the baby for 9 months. I still get goose bumps just from watching the pregnancy channel and I have 2 kids! Poor baby because that is what the mother is a baby! Once again I say, "GET A ROPE!"
