(May 9, 2008)--Marcus Emmanuel Franklin, 24, of Killeen was in the Bell County Jail Friday evening, charged with robbery of a business in connection with a convenience store hold-up in which two 12-packs of beer were taken.
The robber happened around 11:55 p.m. Thursday at a Valero store at 1104 W. Rancier in Killeen.
The attendant told police a man walked into the store, picked up two 12-packs of Budweiser beer, brought them to the counter, threatened to kill the clerk and then walked out of the store.
A customer who saw the robber flee attempted unsuccessfully to stop him, but police found a man a short distance away who matched the description provided by the clerk.
Bond was set at $100,000.
