Hager asked the president’s permission before popping the question.
“So the guy comes to see me, and he says, I want to marry your daughter. I said, done deal,” Mr. Bush said in a speech in March.
First Lady Laura Bush says neither she nor her husband is nervous about the wedding.
“I'm very, very excited,” Mrs. Bush said.
“It's a very interesting passage of life when you get to that time in your life when your child, first child is getting married - and we're getting, for us, our first son.
“So it's a thrill and we're very happy about it,” she said.

About 200 guests are expected to attend the wedding at the Bush family's 1,600 acre secluded ranch in Central Texas.
The White House says it will be a closed affair.
No photos will be released until Sunday.
There are 14 attendants, and Barbara Bush, Jenna's twin, is the maid of honor.
Jenna's diamond is a Hager family heirloom that was reset in a ring that also features sapphires.
Mrs. Bush admits that she half hoped Jenna and Hager would get married at the White House, but Jenna said she was raised in Texas, and that having a White House wedding just wasn't her style.
