Fort Hood And The Central Texas Economy Save Email Print

(May 13, 2008)—Texas Comptroller Susan Combs will be on post Tuesday to discuss the growing impact of Fort Hood on the Texas and Central Texas economies

Combs, along with Fort Hood commanding general Lt. Gen. Ray Odierno, will hold a news conference at 1:30 p.m. in front of the III Corps Headquarters building.

A new analysis of the economic impact of Fort Hood, prepared by the Comptroller's office, is expected to be released Tuesday.

The report studies how direct military expenditures and indirect economic growth in the Central Texas region have increased dramatically in recent years as more troops are stationed at Fort Hood.
