(May 13, 2008)--A bus driver from Brownsville faces trial on Aug. 25 in a deadly 2007 wreck in Arkansas.
An attorney for Felix Badillo Tapia said Tuesday she'll challenge the Arkansas State Police assertion that the driver was under the influence of amphetamines.
Tapia November was driving a rig owned by Dallas-based Tornado Bus last November when the bus crossed the median on Interstate 40 near Forrest City and collided with a pickup and a tractor trailer.
Three bus passengers and the pickup driver died in the crash.
More than 20 people were hurt.
Tapia faces four counts of negligent homicide.
He remains free on $50,000 bond.
If convicted, Tapia could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each count.
