(May 15, 2008)--An attorney says a book and promotional tour by the teenage bride who helped convict polygamist leader Warren Jeffs could taint the jury pool in the upcoming criminal trial of her former husband in Utah.

Elissa Wall's book, "Stolen Innocence," was released Tuesday by publisher William Morrow.

It chronicles her life, including her time with cousin Allen Steed.

Steed is charged with raping Wall during their marriage, which was arranged in 2001 by leaders of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Wall was then 14, and she says she was forced to have sex with Steed, who was then 19.

Steed's attorney, Jim Bradshaw, says Wall's conduct could compromise Steed's shot at a fair trial in Utah.

He says she may need to choose between her quest for publicity and her desire to have Steed prosecuted.

Bradshaw says a raid on the sect's West Texas compound last month further complicates the issue.

Texas officials have placed more than 460 children in state custody during an investigation of child abuse.

Bradshaw raised his concerns in a letter to Washington County, Utah, prosecutors.

Wall was the key witness in the 2007 trial that sent FLDS leader Jeffs to prison.

A hearing scheduled for Thursday in Steed's case was postponed.

Me,Myself & I...she actually was on Oprah some time last week, and though she wasn't on long (10 or 15 minutes I think) what she had to say was amazing. I can't believe everything she had to go through. Try searching it on Oprah.com, you may be able to pull up the video feed of it. Then she was on 20/20 Friday night I believe. She got to go more in depth on that show. I know one thing for sure, I'm going to try and find her book next time I go shopping!

Well, what do they expect??? The girl was raped...under the guise of religion...She should be able to get whatever she can out of this monstrous "affair"...Convicted killers, rapists, etc. get to write books and make profits...why shouldn't she???

That poor child was abused and she can't even get her story told about her abusers. However, that child's story is going to be told at the trial anyway. I say put her on Oprah!

that`s sick but her story should be told to warn people of how sick the world has gotten

Let this poor girl tell her story. The world needs to know what this cult does.

I am guessing if the two morons had not raped and forced marriage on the girl, the book would have never been written and they wouldn't have to worry about the book causing harm to their cases. Cry me another river. If they weren't guilty, a book is not going to make a difference. I think more people need facts about what goes on in their cult to be able to make an educated decision.

Who cares what Warren Jeff's attorney wants? Let the truth be told!

I think she should be able to sell the book and also have her rapeist convicted. Why should she have to chose between the two. She has already had a horiable life so why not do what she wants to do now???
