(May 18, 2008)- A minister arrested in connection with an Internet sex sting has resigned from his position at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.

The Rev. Jack Graham, pastor at the Dallas area megachurch, announced the acceptance of Joe Barron's resignation during services Saturday.

Barron is charged with online solicitation of a minor after he was caught communicating with who he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

The online conversations were sexual in nature according to undercover officers who posed as that 13-year-old girl.

Barron was arrested Thursday after he drove nearly 200 miles to Bryan to meet with the girl.

Police found a Web-cam and condoms in Barron's car.

Barron was released from the Brazos County Jail on Friday on a $7,000 bond.

He should not be allowed to pastor any church ever again! I know there are evil, sick people in all professions, but some are held to a higher standard than others. If there is a hell I would hope he rots in it.

Prestonwood is a big megachurch that uses all the media and promotional techniques available to them. Unfortunately, there is more emphasis on the growth and publicity than there is on highly qualified Christian leaders. I am sure Mr. Barron was slick.

Its best for the Church that he resign. I mean how can he conduct services from behind bars?
