Prom Queen Gets More Than Costume Jewelry Save Email Print

A | A | A

(May 18, 2008)- A Texas high school rewarded its prom queen with more than just costume jewelry.

The Southlake High School prom queen will get a handcrafted sterling silver tiara studded with freshwater rose pearls and Swarovski crystals.

The queen was awarded the tiara, worth $695, Saturday night at the celebration.

She will keep the tiara as apart of an exclusive agreement with New York-based jewelry company Bailey Banks & Biddle.

The Fort Worth suburb is known for its rich neighborhoods, which are home to some Dallas-area professional athletes.

You seem to have problems comprehending what people right(ive noticed that on several threads) or you are a knee-jerk patriot that doesnt read everything all the way through before acting like an idiot!! i also tend to believe that you are one of those "children left behind" though im sure that didnt exist when you were in school! lol~ why dont ya go try to wrangler some pitbulls and head for the border! No thinking is needed for that! lol

This story is stupid and non-important. I'm not the best at remembering to spell correctly and punctuate correctly on a POST! But, my god Connie I imagine you never got prom queen because you didnt make it out of middle school. LOL im GLADE you posted today so i could laugh.

Well my first comment didn't make it so let me tone this one down a hair. Why give someone an expensive crown when five years from now no one is even gonna remember she existed in that high school? Are high schools now a days hanging up the hall of fame Prom queens or something, I say its a waste of money that coul've been used to help someone leee fotunate!

Posted by: get real Location: here on May 19, 2008 at 01:26 PM
Mommy & daddy probably bought it and paid off some folks so their queenie could get her crown. I'm with dude, looking for the nearest toilet.

Since my first post didn't make it on here, I'll try being a little nicer. Ok, think of all the young girls who's parents had to say.. "sorry honey, but we just don't have the money for a prom dress." And this kind of story MAKES THE NEWS?? Pathetic!! And NO Jeff, I never wanted to be a prom queen! LOL ..or prom king for that matter! Like Steve says....wasted internet space!

Posted by: jeff Location: belton on May 19, 2008 at 11:05 AM
sounds like there's a few ladys that didn't get prom queen on here. Why cut the news media of the girl for what she's voted for. Be happy for her and less happy for yourself.

Who decided to make this into a NEWS story? Whoever it was should be ashamed!

I can already imagine how much they spend on their outfits, dinner, and rides. They should spend their money on more beneficial things like helping out the poor.
