(May 19, 2008)—Police have released tape of 911 calls made by a Wisconsin woman who they say was murdered after refusing her husband’s demand for sex.
Joann Reidenbach, 64, called 911 and pleaded for help early in the morning on May 15.
Police arrived at her home about three minutes later.
The officers say they heard a woman screaming and force their way into the home that Reidenbach shared with her husband Gary Sabol.
They found her near death in the bedroom, where she had been stabbed and shot.
Sabol, 63, was standing in the bedroom and was arrested.
Neighbors say the couple had lived in the house for about 15 years and had never caused any problems.
Sabol is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree sexual assault and mayhem.
He told police that he and Reidenbach had been married for 36 years.
