(May 19, 2008)—Baylor University officials sent out a campus-wide alert Monday after a female student was carjacked at gunpoint over the weekend, forced to drive to another part of town and then robbed.
It happened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of James where two men approached the coed, produced a small silver gun and forced her into her car.
She later escaped and sought help at a nearby residence, the e-mail said.
She was treated at a local hospital and then released.
Police found her vehicle abandoned before dawn on a street near where she escaped.
The e-mail says one of the men was Hispanic, about 20, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a white tank top.
The other man was black, in his early 20s with a medium build and was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt and red shorts.
