Local College Coed Carjacked At Gunpoint Save Email Print

A | A | A

(May 19, 2008)—Baylor University officials sent out a campus-wide alert Monday after a female student was carjacked at gunpoint over the weekend, forced to drive to another part of town and then robbed.

It happened around 12:45 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of James where two men approached the coed, produced a small silver gun and forced her into her car.
She later escaped and sought help at a nearby residence, the e-mail said.

She was treated at a local hospital and then released.

Police found her vehicle abandoned before dawn on a street near where she escaped.

The e-mail says one of the men was Hispanic, about 20, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a white tank top.

The other man was black, in his early 20s with a medium build and was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt and red shorts.

You go Cynthia! I carry a knife with me. But then again I'm what you might call a little fire cracker. No one is getting my vehicle or me if I don't approve of it!! I hope the girl is ok! That would have to be very scary! My prayers are with her.

I survived driving a taxi in Waco for six months. Shots were fired at my taxi many times. Two guys tried to rob me and I slammed the door into his face and broke his nose and jaw. But it was a job. Waco is like any other town with a bad neighborhood. Dredges of society hide in the shadows to take what they want at the cost of your life.

Donald again, you really need to stop showing how foolish you are.Once again go bite your toe nails or some thing along those lines. In this day and time people really need to beware of their surrounding,I hope these fools get what they have coming to them.

The time or what she was doing out is not what the issue should be. We should be able to go outside and go where we need to go when ever we want to without the worry of being carjacked, mugged or raped.

People i would like to remind you that this is a post and not a grammar competition. But, some people need to be made fun of for their grammar (connie in the prom queen post). I got a twelve pack of beer stolen off the back of my truck, within 3 minutes of getting gas at another store in that part of town. LOL, but i still go there, you should be able to go anywhere. The point of the story is, put beer inside with you and carry a loaded gun...LOL

Ooh I spelled one word wrong by accident "date". Let's not go there because that last sentence of yours is incorrect. Well Wacky it is not our fault your M-O-M-M-A (did I spell that right?), raised a person that is too scared to go outside late because the big bad scary guy might get you!

Hey Tamara learn to spell! I know the streets around baylor like the back of my head, this type of thing happens all the time she just got lucky her story made headlines. I know I wouldn't be alone @ no 12:45 a.m. in that part of town!

Time is not the issue! We as citizens should be able to go outdoors at anytime and be safe!

Donald- are you serious? 12:45 is not late and it was Saturday, not a school day. It sounds like you are trying to say the young lady was a walking poster board, "Come rob me, I'm young and it is late!" And the fact that she was a college student shouldn't have anything to do with this. The fact is a young lady was robbed, I am gladed she got away with a few bumps and bruises could of been worse!

Posted by: notU Location: UaintNevaThere on May 20, 2008 at 06:59 AM
I pray she is well and these criminals are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Posted by: chris Location: Waco on May 20, 2008 at 12:42 AM
@donald 12am isn't late, don't you remember college? Besides, you aren't seriously blaming this young lady are you? - how cold-hearted and misguided you must be.

Well what was the lady doing out at that time of the morning
