Police Are Asking For Your Help In Solving Two Carjackings Save Email Print

(May 21, 2008)—Waco Police are still looking for two men connected with an early morning aggravated robbery.

Just before 4 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the scene of a carjacking in the area of South 12th Street and Gurley Lane in Waco.

Juan Salas of Waco reported to police that as he was about to get out of his vehicle, two men approached on foot, brandished a small pistol and forced hime out of the truck.

The two assailants were described as Hispanic males, both between the age of 20 and 24. The man with the weapon was wearing a red bandana across his face, a black T-Shirt and red shorts. The other man was wearing a white T-Shirt and black pants.

Salas threw the keys of his black 1996 Chevrolet Truck in the floor then ran from the scene to hide behind a nearby church. As Salas was calling the police he saw the men take his truck, traveling northbound on South 12th Street.

Shortly after receiving the 911 call, officers spotted and began to pursue the stolen vehicle.

The traffic pursuit ended at the Brazos Place Apartment Complex in the 600 block of South University Parks Drive. The two men fled the scene on foot after the truck was crashed into a tree.

Waco and Baylor police officers checked the area but were unable to locate the two men.

Police consider the men armed; no weapons were found in the vehicle.

Over the weekend in a similar incident, a Baylor coed was carjacked by gunpoint and was forced to drive to another part of town where she was robbed.

She was able to escape and went to a nearby residence for help.

Police found her vehicle abandoned several blocks away.

One of the men involved in that carjacking was Hispanic, about 20, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a white tank top.

The other man was black, in his early 20s with a medium build and was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt and red shorts.

Anyone with information about either incident are asked to contact the Waco Police Department at 750-7500 or Waco Crime Stoppers at 753-HELP.

With the number of victim's, why isn't there a police sketch for the citizen's of this city to look at?

Posted by: Tamara Location: Waco on May 22, 2008 at 12:27 PM
Well, dang the shirt I have on is red; maybe I should just clean out my office right now and tell my boss I am in a gang. But then again he has on blue, so as long as he stays in his office and I stay in mine we shouldn't have any problems. I have to go and start recruiting some more members in here!

ok police here is the help you need, this whole thing is fueled by crack, bash those crack dealers in the head with that big flashlight, if you dont allready know where they are i`ll tell you, when you leave police headquartes turn left or right on waco drive go a few blocks and look left or right, the crack dealers are all over the place, the lookouts are the ones on bicycles, bash them in the head too, if i can see people selling crack out in the open i know the police can see it too.a few month of this head bashing will lower the crime rate considerably, drive them out of town,we dont want them here.

i must be in a gang, i wear red all the time.

I wear red all the time. I am not a gang member. Just because people doing stupid things are wearing red (and white, gray and black for that matter) doesn't mean they are in a gang. Maybe they are, I don't know but that comment was slightly ignorant. And if you are so concerned about your city polices' response to crime become a police officer and show them how to do it better...

notice the red attire.....is this gang affliated, and how in the world did the police let them getaway? They could not run fast enough to catch them?Ok enough with the donuts, get in shape
