(May 21, 2008)—Police have found a vehicle suspected to be involved in a Hit-and-Run accident that left one teenager dead another in critical condition.

Bruceville-Eddy Police Chief Dan Ferguson confirmed Wednesday that police located the truck Tuesday, turning it over to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab for processing.

The Bruceville-Eddy Police Chief says the truck shows extensive damage in connection with hitting a person.

Chief Ferguson also stated that police have talked to multiple persons of interest including the owner of the vehicle and have other persons of interest they still need to interview.

The accident happened on Friday May 9; Bree Anne Breichner, 17, of Bruceville-Eddy and James Preston Nolan, 18, of Valley Mills were walking home from a festival when a vehicle struck the two teenagers. Breichner died at the scene while Nolan was taken via air ambulance to Scott and White Medical Center.

No arrests have been made and there are still no definite leads in the case.

My condolences to the family of this young lady killed and also to the family of the young man injured. I pray he makes a full physical recovery. I have every confidence in the McLennan County Sheriff's Dept and local law enforcement that they will eventually find and prosecute the individual responsible for this atrocity. If this were my granddaughter or grandson, I would be doing everything in my power to aid law enforcement in finding the suspect/s. I feel the suspect was probably intoxicated at the time of this incident and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No one deserves to be cut down so young with her whole life ahead of her!! And this young man who loved her will forever be reminded of this.

the young man is doing fine. He is still going through therapy, but is being released soon. He is doing well, still in a lot of pain though. Keep him in the prayers.

Folks, just a little bit of patience and faith in your Police force. DPS is the BEST Department to have process a crime scene. I'm sure the Police Department just has to gather all evidence possible before making the arrest so they will have a conviction in court. Just remember the families involved and give the Police Department and DPS some time to process the evidence... Justice will be served..

I live in Eddy and knew Bree and I am still numb about it all. I wished the animal that did this would turn himself in and try to put a bit of closer in for the family. How could you just run down two teenagers and just keep on driving?? I just can't even wrap my mind around that, how people could be this way. We ALL miss her SO VERY MUCH!!!!!! R.I.P BREE!!!! turn yourself in please so you can sleep at night. You have a family to answer to also. think of them. You were probably raised better than that.I know you did not do this on purpose. It will be tuff but think what you would want done if this happened to one of your own. My prayers go out to you.

Sure hope they find the person(s) responsible for this. Didn't earlier reports say that the young man was 21?

Posted by: volleyball Location: waco on May 21, 2008 at 12:11 PM
