Texas Educators Killed In Van Crash In Mexico
A Texas middle school teacher and a regional education official died when the van in which they were riding plunged off a cliff in Mexico.

(May 23, 2008)--A Beaumont middle school teacher and a regional school official were killed when the van in which they were riding plunged from a cliff in Mexico, Beaumont school district officials said.

Marshall Middle School teacher Denise H. Wenzel, 45, and 53-year-old Dorothy Gray, who was bilingual education program coordinator for the state's Region V Education Service Center in Beaumont, died in Thursday crash Thursday near Pachuca in the Mexican state of Hidalgo

Gray was the wife of Beaumont school district bilingual program supervisor Gary Gray.

He and their two sons were among several others injured in the crash.

The district says the crash came during a trip in which Southeast Texas teachers worked with Pachuca-area school children.
