By: James Warde Email

WACO (February 27, 2013)—Waco police were searching Wednesday for a man who held up a local Sonic restaurant late Tuesday.

The suspect, according to an officer at the scene, is a man whom the victim said was wearing a hooded sweater, dark jeans, a ski mask and goggles.

Police were sent at about 10 p.m. Tuesday to the Sonic at 801 S. 6th Street after a report of a robbery.

The sergeant at the scene said one of the employees reported he had taken out the trash when he was approached by a man who threatened to shoot him but the victim said he never actually saw a weapon.

The robber forced the employee to take him inside the restaurant, threatening to shoot the victim if he did not.

The robber took some cash from the business and fled on foot out the back door.
