(May 30, 2008)--At least one person died Friday when a Grupo Taca Airlines Airbus jet overshot the runway in the capital of Honduras a thousand yards and traveled onto an adjoining street where it slammed into a number of vehicles before stopping.

Taca Flight No. 390 was carrying 124 passengers on a flight from San Salvador to Tegucigalpa as the crew attempted to land in high winds and low visibility from the remnants of a tropical depression.

Authorities said other people were injured, including drivers of the cars, but they didn't know how many.
