Infant Formula Focus Of Voluntary Worldwide Recall
Two lots of a particular infant formula available only by special order are the focus of a worldwide recall.

(May 31, 2008)—Abbott has announced a voluntary worldwide recall of two lots of Calcilo XD Low-Calcium/Vitamin D-Free Infant Formula with Iron powder in 14.1-ounce cans.
Only the 14.1-ounce cans are included in the recall.
The product is designed for the nutritional support of infants and children with high calcium in their blood and is only available by special order.
The recall was announced because small amounts of air may have entered cans, causing product oxidation, which in turn could cause such symptoms as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Consumers who purchased the product should contact Abbott Nutrition at 1-800-638-6493.
