Two people aboard a small plane died early Sunday when the aircraft crashed at a regional airport near Houston.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane clipped some power lines then hit a car by David Wayne Hooks Airport.

One person in the car was hurt.

The condition of the person in the car wasn't immediately available, but KTRK-TV in Houston reported that a woman in the car was treated for minor injuries.

It was the second deadly crash in the area in 24 hours.

A small jet crashed Saturday at Houston’s Hobby Airport, killing both people aboard.

The Cessna Citation 500 was preparing to leave the airport Saturday morning when its pilot was told to take quickly off because a Southwest Airlines 737 plane with some sort of problem was coming in.

Officials say the Southwest plane ended up being diverted to the city's other major airport, Bush Intercontinental, where it landed safely.

But the Citation began experiencing some sort of problem and the pilot asked if he could return to Hobby.

Officials don't know what type of problem the small plane had that forced its return.

The names of the victims or where they were headed wasn't immediately known.

The airport was shut down for about an hour before it resumed operating.
