Three Arrested For Marijuana After LocalTraffic Stop

ROBINSON (March 5, 2013)—Three people were being held Tuesday in the McLennan County Jail charged with possession of marijuana after they were arrested during a Monday traffic stop.

Johnny Lee Maxon-Billings, 20, Kaylea Elizabeth Carter, 17, and Reginald Javaughn Hatfield, 19, each were listed on the jail log Tuesday.

Maxon-Billings was ordered held on bonds totaling $15,000, charged with possession of marijuana more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds in a drug-free zone and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

Hatfield was ordered held on bonds totaling bonds totaling $7,000, charged with possession of marijuana more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds in a drug-free zone and possession of a prohibited weapon/switchblade knife.

Carter was ordered held on a $5,000 bond charged with possession of marijuana more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds in a drug-free zone.

Robinson police say a routine traffic stop on Monday afternoon led to the arrests.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Old Robinson Road near Meadowbrook, close to the new University High School because the officer noticed an expired inspection sticker and an obscured license plate.

When the occupants of the vehicle were identified, one was found to have an outstanding warrant.

Police called for a drug dog and that led to the discovery of a backpack that contained an amount of a substance that officers believed was marijuana.
