Steroids Dealer Found Dead In North Texas After Talking to NFL

(June 6, 2008)--The Dallas County medical examiner says a convicted steroids dealer who claimed to have sold drugs to pro football players killed himself.

Plano police found David Jacobs, 35, and Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell, 30, dead of gunshot wounds on Thursday in Jacobs' Plano home.

The medical examiner said Friday that Jacobs suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the abdomen and another to the head.

Additional information about Earhart-Savell's death wasn’t provided.

Plano Police Officer Andrae Smith says it may take several days before investigators know exactly what happened to her, but said they can't assume that it was a homicide.

Jacobs met recently with NFL security officials and gave them names of players he said had bought steroids from him.
