MARLIN (March 7, 2013)—Power was out Thursday afternoon in Marlin after a truck hit a high line pole and snapped some of the transmission lines.

The accident happened around 1 p.m. at In marlin at intersection of Coleman and Kuntze streets.

Marlin firefighters were sent to the scene because at least one of the lines caught fire.

The fire department closed the intersection and summoned power company workers to repair the downed lines.

The truck, police said, did not stop but was later located by police.

A resident who lives nearby saw the accident and called police.

Power was out to several customers in the area but power company officials said service should be restored by mid-afternoon.
