(June 12, 2008)--Three workers were hurt Thursday in a crane accident at the under-construction Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington.
A team spokesman says a cable snapped as the crane was being lifted off the ground.
The cable hit one worker, but two others were able to jump out of the way.
Stadium construction official Jack Hill says all three were conscious when they left the site and were taken to a Dallas hospital.
A spokeswoman at Baylor University Medical Center said one worker was listed as critical, while the other two are in fair condition.
Hill says the workers were wearing protective safety equipment.
They work for a subcontractor, Derr Steel Erection, which didn't immediately comment.
Crews in orange vests and hard hats were back at work throughout the complex after the accident.
The more than $1 billion Cowboys retractable-roof stadium is scheduled to open in 2009 and will host the 2011 Super Bowl.
