(June 14, 2008)—An autopsy has been ordered after a one-car accident that claimed the life of a 26-year-old Lampasas Woman.

Amanda Lanier died early Friday morning after her 2006 Chevrolet Impala veered off U.S. 190, plunged down an embankment, and crashed through a fence and into a clump of trees.

A witness told investigators Lanier was slumped over the steering wheel before the car veered off the highway.

The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. Friday about four miles east of Lampasas.

Lanier was pronounced dead at the scene about an hour later.

She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Amanda was the daughter of my cousin, Elaine. She has always been a sincere and loving person. She could make you smile whether you felt like it or not. I know our family will miss her.

Amanda was a sincere, beautiful young lady; inside and out. I went to school with her, and no matter how bad my day would get, she would always crack me up with her jokes, and beautiful smile. I just want the family to know that she left behind alot of friends who loved/love her very much. I would like to set up a donation account, but I have never done this before. Could you please help our community show how much we loved, and cared for Amanda? My number is 5125253465. Please help us, help them. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Tammy (Guthrie) Mercado
