WACO (March 29, 2013)—Two drivers were taken to a local hospital Friday morning after a two-vehicle crash at a busy Waco intersection.
A truck tractor, semi-trailer and a passenger car collided just before 4:30 a.m. Friday at Orchard Lane and Loop 340.
The force of the crash left the truck and trailer turned on its side and the sedan mangled.
Both the driver of the car and the truck driver were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Witnesses at the scene said one of the vehicles failed to stop at a traffic light and the two collided in the middle of the intersection.
The truck was hauling chickens and many of them were dumped on the highway.
Traffic westbound on Loop 340 was diverted for a time while crews cleared the roadway of debris and dead chickens.
