CAMERON (April 4, 2013)-Cameron police on Thursday were investigating the Wednesday night death of a 12-year-old boy.

Cameron police Chief Randy Dixon said officers were sent at about 9 p.m. Wednesday to a home in the city where they found the boy in a bedroom, unresponsive and not breathing.

Cameron police officers, Department of Public Safety troopers and Milam County deputies administered CPR while waiting for EMS personnel to arrive.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Central Texas Hospital where he later was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Sam Berry.

The boy's name has not been released.

Dixon said the case remains under investigation, but also said there is no indication of foul play.

The boy's body was taken to the Travis County Medical Examiners Office for autopsy.

The boy was a student at the Cameron Junior High School where grief counselors were on hand Thursday.
