(June 18, 2008)—Authorities have arrested and charged 12 people in connection with the operation of a southeast Oak Cliff drug trafficking ring, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.
The twelve are scheduled to appear before a federal judge Thursday.
They’re charged with conspiracy to possess drugs with the intent to distribute them.
Authorities have yet to arrest three more suspects who face the same charges.
An indictment unsealed this week shows the suspects used four houses to keep drugs and cash from sales.
One of the houses was near a middle school.
During the arrests, authorities confiscated more than two gallons of liquid PCP, 4,000 ecstasy pills and 30 pounds of marijuana in the homes.
Authorities also seized almost $30,000 in cash, weapons and at least nine vehicles.
A conviction on the charge could lead to prison time of between five to 40 years along with $2 million fines.
