WACO (April 25, 2013)—A memorial will be held Friday in Waco for University High School math teacher Nancy Price, 48, who was shot to death by her husband earlier this week in what police say was a murder-suicide.
The reflection service will be at 7:15 p.m. Friday in the front parking lot of University High School.
Officers found Price and her husband, Stancel Howard Price, Jr., 48, dead in a pickup truck Monday night in Robinson.
Price, a military veteran whose students called her Coach Price, joined the Waco ISD in 1998, taught two years at University Middle School, four years at Cesar Chavez Middle School and was in her ninth year of teaching at University High School, the district said in a press release.
Those who attend the service Friday are asked to use the student parking lot on the west side of the school and to walk to school’s main entrance.
They’re also asked to wear purple or black shirts, the school district said.
In the event of bad weather, the service will be moved to the school’s practice gymnasium.
Officers found the bodies at around 6:40 p.m. Monday in a 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck at the intersection of Old Robinson Road and Loop 340 after police received a 911 call from someone who reported that a man was bleeding inside a vehicle.
McLennan County Justice of the Peace Kristi DeCluitt pronounced both dead at the scene and ordered their bodies taken to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science, in Dallas, for autopsies.
