(June 24, 2008)--Authorities say a teenager who was abducted from his North Carolina home at knifepoint last week has been found in Texas.

Rockingham County Sheriff's spokesman Dean Venable said Tuesday that 17-year-old William Alexander Benitez was found in Galveston after a deputy there pulled over a vehicle.

Venable said the occupants fled and Benitez was the only one taken into custody.

The sheriff's office said last week Benitez was taken from his home at knifepoint by a group of people in two vehicles.

Authorities had said they thought the cars were heading to Texas.

Venable said he doesn't know of a motive for the abduction and named only one suspect.

Benitez wasn't unhurt and authorities are trying reunite him with his parents and to determine his legal status.

He was abducted last week? And he is 17? And couldn't get away at any point from a guy with a knife? Something smells about this story.

I have to agree. English wasn't a strong subject for me in school but at least I can put sentences together correctly.

Who writes this stuff?? He "wasn't unhurt"? Wouldn't that make him hurt? Please, you would expect the writers of these articles to be a little more literate. Anyone ever heard of proof-reading? By the way, I am glad he was found...hurt or not unhurt! lol
