WACO (May 30, 2013)—An 82-year-old McLennan County man was named in indictments for the second time in a month charged with inappropriate sexual contact with young children.

Vernon Truitt Holder was named in additional indictments on Wednesday after investigators identified an additional victim, an assistant district attorney said.

Holder now is charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse of young children and indecency with a child.

He remained held in lieu of bonds totaling $250,000 in the McLennan County Jail.

Arrest records indicate victims in the case include a 3- and 4-year-old girl but details of the new victim were not known.

Records in Holder's case show the McLennan County Sheriff's Office began investigating him after a Child Protective Services worker visited a home in response to a report of child neglect.

While the CPS worker was at the home, the two younger girls told the worker about the alleged abuse, according to court records.

The children also told other investigators that Holder abused them on multiple occasions.

Holder faces a minimum of 25 years and up to life in prison without parole if convicted of continuous sexual abuse of young children.

Holder's daughter, 52-year-old Deawathae Holder Manson, was indicted May 15 on a tampering with a witness charge, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Court documents indicate Manson told the younger children not to report the alleged abuse by Holder or she would "whoop them."

Manson remains free on bail.
