KILLEEN (May 31, 2013)—A two-year-old girl was flown by helicopter ambulance to McLane’s Children’s Hospital, in Temple, Friday after police say she was shot.
When officers arrived at about 11 a.m. Friday at a home in the 1700 block of N. 24th Street, they found a woman administering first aid to a toddler.
Killeen Fire Department EMS administered first aid to the child and called for a helicopter, which landed across the street in a play ground area.
Officers at the scene would not comment on the child’s condition other than to say she was conscious when she was taken from the scene.
Police at the scene said they recovered a hand gun from the residence.
They also said there was a three-year-old inside the home when the shooting happened.
