Rural Highway Accident Kills Area Teenager

SAN SABA COUNTY (June 10, 2013)—A Saturday morning rural highway accident on a rural San Saba County roadway left a teenager dead and two other men injured.

The Department of Public Safety reports Sophia Page, 14, of Llano, died when the pick up truck in which she was riding left the roadway and crashed.

Adrian Villarreal, 19, also of Llano, was taken to Seaton Hospital, in Round Rock with undisclosed injuries.

Roberto Ugarte, 21, of San Antonio, was taken to Llano Memorial Hospital, also with undisclosed injuries.

The DPS trooper who investigated the accident said at about 4 a.m. Saturday Villarreal was driving a 1992 Chevrolet pick up truck westbound on Ranch-to-Market Road 508 about 6 miles east of Cherokee when he lost control of the truck.

The pick up left the roadway to the left, hit a fence and overturned.
